A Desert Willow

After much dithering I finally got a white flowered 'Hope' desert willow. At first I put it in the turquoise pot on the now empty lower patio (I removed the table and chairs) but then planted it among the stones in the lower patio.

In my research I came across some interesting photos of desert willow forms that I want to document here for reference -- different varieties, but these show how the plant grows:

'Monhews', also called 'Timeless Beauty' is nice, with bicolor white and purple flowers, no seedpods. It is supposed to spread 8 to 15 feet wide. Height is 15 feet, not very tall.

This reviewer at HCG said her Monhews tree in this picture was about 6 years old:

Seems quite upright shaped.

'Art's Seedless' is also bicolor but pinker. There is a large spreading one at the Santa Fe Botanical Garden.
